Dan Prince Photographer
I’ve enjoyed a wide mix of collaborative projects with photographer Dan Prince. From a branding system and website, and a number of award winning promotional pieces.

Dan Prince is a very creative photographer. And I love working with great photographers, so as a team it was great to produce work that not only displayed his skills, but brought creative joy to both of us. From initial ‘flexible’ branding to individual projects, the focus was on creating engaging keepsakes that provoked ideas of new projects for his clients.

A limited edition book was produced to show a new collection of images produced by Dan Prince. The concept and design echoed the environment in which the shots were taken, as well as giving context to the subjects by including their favourite quotes. I particularly wanted to emphasise the feel of an old, highly decorated small book in your hand – a source of reflection and answers to many over the years.
The small gold edged book, once opened revealed twelve extra thick postcards with the image and quote. The limited edition book had to capture the imagination and help the viewer fully experience the photographs. Each hand crafted book jacket evoked the feeling of the traditional.
An initial word mark was developed as a logo, that felt unique, but also be fairly neutral and consistent alongside various promotional send outs. The use of colour developed along with new photographic promotions, but the word mark and high production standards remain consistent.
An integral idea of the website was to allow easy viewing of the portfolio on the move, as well as provide a flexible canvas to showcase the large variety of photographs.
I developed a simple play on the flammable icon for this particular promotional send. The sticker icon was cleverly placed on the outside clear packaging which created intrigue, and a fun and light hearted promotional piece of unique postcards.
A small booklet created that documented the shots produced by Dan. The idea was to house the shots within a school book, that left traces of the subject creating his Robot costume, such as a silver paint, and doodles of the day. The promotion was highly successful and won a SUN award as best promotional piece.
Far more exposure and a key brand message about Dan's creative outlook and skills were gained, within the audiences he wanted to work. The pieces have become very collectable as art in their own right and have helped inspire clients to think in more adventurous angles.
